It depicts a peasant woman feeding a child, having taken a break from work in the midst of the harvest. The painting is one of the last acquisitions of the Tretyakov Gallery. It belonged to the famous collector V.B. Khvoshchinsky and after his emigration was in Rome. The last owner of the painting was V.G. Provators, and during this period she wandered from Kent to Monte Carlo.The painting adorns the exposition of the Tretyakov Gallery, as one of the best works of Russian painting of the first half of the 19th century.CHwww.osminog.pro 117
